Environmental Chemistry: Problem-Solving Through Change About This Book

The goal of this problem-solving guide is to provide an outline of the fundamental topics along with additional explanations in order to supplement any introductory environmental chemistry textbook. Following a summary of the most relevant topics are worked examples to try to make understanding chemistry easier and more fun. At the end of each chapter are exercises designed to help reinforce the concepts. The future well-being of our country and, indeed, the whole world, will depend on good problem-solvers who can look at new situations and make wise decisions. As an educator, I feel that it is important to challenge students and do all that I can to encourage them to develop these problem-solving skills.

What they're saying about

Dr. Kuhler is very organized, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I would recommend to anyone that if they need to take a chemistry class, she is an excellent professor to have.
-Lisa Ritter, graduate student, University of Texas

Dr. Kuhler helped me become interested in the opportunities of research. She makes learning chemistry comfortable and fun. She is one of the best instructors I have had at SIUC.
-Ken Hunter, graduate student, University of Illinois

Dr. Kuhler is a really good teacher. She throws in a sense of humor, and explains chemistry very clearly, with many real-life examples, and is very practical about telling students why equations are useful and how different topics relate to each other.
- Jenny Johnson, pre-med student, SIU

Dr. Kuhler is a very good chemistry teacher. She explained everything so clearly, and better than most professors I've had.
-Mike Williams, pre-med student, SIU
